Sodalite Cosmos
Sodalite occurs in igneous rocks that crystallized from sodium-rich magmas - hence the name "sodalite." Sodalite often has white veining and a delicate blue to blue-violet hue and is considered a symbol of protection in lithotherapy.
This beautiful blue mineral was only discovered in the 19th century, picked up in the remote wilds of Greenland. Nowadays, this gemstone is also mined in other volcanic regions, such as in the depths of sultry Brazil, the fragrant shores of India, and the sand dunes of Namibia.

ABOUT LAVA STONE
Lava Stone, (also known as Basalt) is an igneous volcanic rock. It has solidified from molten lava, after conditions of intense heat and pressure. Lava Stone is easily the oldest stone in the world, coming from the core of the Earth. As the lava bubbles to the surface and cools, it becomes porous and black, giving the stone a recognisable and aesthetic natural design. At Cosmos, we use this fascinating stone as a base material to create most of our unique designs.
